Dear friends~

Happy summertime! I hope you're all enjoying the sunshine.

I've been working on the new record, which is sounding great.
I played one of the songs from the record, "Stick Around,"
at the NY Uke Fest last month—you can watch the video here.

Three summer shows are coming up, each with a special twist—
various band members are away this summer, so we've
come up with some alternate arrangements. Details below!

Thursday July 16, 8:30pm

Sweet Soubrette Marimba/Uke Duo
Night of 101 Ukes at Otto's Shrunken Head
538 East 14th St (between Aves A & B)
Manhattan, NYC

NYC's best ukulele-wielding performers will be playing from 7pm to midnight
in a wide array of styles, from 20s blues to 50s swing to Polynesian
to original indie pop. This will be the debut of Sweet Soubrette in
marimba/uke duo formation, featuring the mallet skills of SS percussionist
Mike Dobson. The songs sound great this way--come on out!

Friday July 17, 6:45pm
Sweet Soubrette Marimba/Uke Duo
American Folk Art Museum
45 West 53rd St (East of 6th Ave)
Manhattan, NYC

Our second exciting performance in marimba/uke duo formation,
part of the Free Music Fridays series at the American Folk Art Museum:
Every Friday evening, admission to the museum galleries is free,
and live music is presented in the museum’s atrium from 5:30-7:30pm.

Thursday July 23, 11pm
Sweet Soubrette: Full Band (Almost!)
Jalopy Theatre
315 Columbia St (between Woodhull and Rapeleye)
Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY
with Erin Regan, Susan Hwang, and Debe Dalton
starting at 9pm

This show is at one of our favorite NYC venues, a hidden treasure in Red Hook
where the curtain is red velvet, the seats are church pews, the wine is
served in jam jars, and the sound is gorgeous. Featuring the full band (almost):
without violinist Heather, but with Bob and Mike on bass and drums
and the Laurens singing backup! This is going to be an awesome show,
and the rest of the lineup is also fantastic, so come early and stay late...

Hope to see you soon!
